I-Pixel Laser pulses create tiny ablative zones, removing the epidermis & upper dermis (upper skin layers) leaving 65% of the skin intact. The treatment then triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of healthy skin tissue.
The treatment is fractional, which means that the procedure treats small zones of the skin, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. These large unaffected areas act as a reservoir for rapid healing, revealing new, healthier and smoother skin.
Common skin conditions that can be treated with I-Pixel lasers are:
Dr. Nedic will explain during your first meeting whether or not these results are achievable for your particular skin condition and possibly suggest another approach. You will be informed of any possible contraindications and alternatives.
Prior to the treatment, a topical anaesthetic will be applied, ensuring the procedure is painless.
A small, hand-held device will be used to touch your skin in the chosen area. Flashes of laser light will treat those areas. Depending on the treated surface size, each session can take from 15 to 45 minutes.
Application of moisturiser and sun block cream is recommended during this period. Most people find that they can return to work immediately after the treatment, but this will depend on the number of laser passes and the applied energy.
Although I-Pixel Laser effectively creates ablations on the surface layers of the skin, healing is quick and involves minimal downtime. The procedure is vastly superior to older, more aggressive laser treatments.
Results are usually expected with four treatments, three weeks apart, but we have seen improvements in skin tone and texture after only one treatment.
