Polylactic acid is the main ingredient in these threads. It is a polymer used in various medical fields that are fully absorbable and biocompatible with human tissues. It is also well tolerated by all patients and does not require allergy testing. Once inserted, it stimulates the activation of fibroblasts and collagen production. This action continues over time and assists to increase the volume as well as to restore the face’s shape slowly and naturally.
Cone technology
Silhouette Soft sutures are the only sutures with absorbable hollow cones. The entire surface of the cones is smooth, so patients will not experience any “prickling” sensations. They are responsible for enhancing collagen production.

How does Silhouette Soft fit with other aesthetic procedures?
This is not a facelift, nor can it be used in areas in which we typically use neuromodulators to smooth wrinkles. It also can not substitute fillers. In fact, it is used in combination with fillers.To explain it in simple terms: Silhouette Soft is used for collagen enhancement in a similar way to the other procedures that are dedicated to collagen production such as Thermage RF, Titan, Tripollar, etc.
How long is the downtime?
Patients can experience minor swelling and sometimes minimal bruising at the entry point with some pulling of the skin which is visible for 2 days. Total recovery usually takes 10 days. The majority of patients will resume their duties immediately.*
There are however certain post-procedure requirements which can cause limitations such as: Avoiding excessive facial movements for 3 weeks, avoiding sport for 3 weeks, avoiding sauna, sunbed and direct sunlight for 2-3 weeks, etc. A post-procedure recommendation list will be given to the patient to achieve stability of the threads and good results.
