Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is one of the world ‘s most popular aesthetic procedure.

The next-generation laser hair removal, called Harmony XL-SHR system, is an efficient and painless method for permanent hair reduction used on men and women of all skin types, including tanned skin. Anyone with excessive body hair, tired of shaving and waxing or having hair in the wrong place is most likely a good candidate for laser hair removal.

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

It is a medical procedure that uses laser light, which passes through the skin and gets absorbed by the melanin in the hair. This light is specifically designed not to damage the surrounding skin but to selectively target the hair. It causes photo-thermolysis which will eliminate the hair and its potential re-growth to achieve the desired effect.

With Harmony XL SHR, the diode laser is emitting a broad spectrum light that travels harmlessly through the epidermis and dermis, targeting only the follicle area of the hair. This ensures a treatment that is safe, convenient and pain-free. It eliminates dangerous energy spikes that used to cause burning and other undesirable effects. By absorbing the laser energy, hair follicles are disabled, and future hair growth is prevented.

Who is the ideal candidate for hair removal?

Both men and women, teenagers and elders are suitable. Traditionally, permanent hair reduction has been very difficult to achieve on darker skin types for many years (African, Asian as well as tanned skin). Now, with Harmony XL SHR, we can offer this treatment for all skin types and all hair colors.

The laser uses advanced continuous wave technology that eliminates undesirable side effects. Unique in-motion technology uses a sweeping motion of the brush to gradually heat the tissue while the rapid pulsing laser targets the hairs. As a consequence, the procedure is shorter in duration and comfortable.

Who is behind your laser?

It's imperative to choose a medi-clinic that provides a qualified medical doctor’s consultation and supervision

How many treatments does one need?

Patients will typically need 4-6 treatments (in some cases up to 10) every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the area treated. Facial and chest/back hair in men is often denser and can sometimes require more treatments. Very light and fine hairs are more stubborn and might need additional treatments. It is important, during your consultation with a doctor, to mention any medical conditions. Some of them, such as hirsutism (excessive facial hair in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) or hormonal changes might need further treatments.

Does the hair grow back?

A laser will only work on the hair follicle in the active growth phase called anagen. That particular hair will be permanently destroyed during the session. However, hair that might have been dormant during previous laser hair removal sessions can re-enter a growth phase. This is why multiple treatments are needed until all the hair in a growth phase is removed.

Which body areas can be treated?

Laser hair removal can be done on just about any area of the body where there is a need for unwanted hair to be removed: face, neck, hands, armpits, tummy area, bikini line, legs, toes, etc.
