This treatment uses an intense broad spectrum pulse of visible light to target specific structures in the skin to treat pigmentations, redness and sun spots
Intense Pulsed Light Therapy
How the Procedure works?
IPL can be used in women and men that suffer from rosacea, sun-damaged skin and pigmentations, acne, broken capillaries (telangiectasias), freckles, liver spots, birthmarks, enlarged skin pores, spider veins, etc. It can be used for skin that has texture and elasticity problems.
IPL passes through the top skin layer (epidermis) and penetrates to the deeper layer (dermis), where blood vessels, pigment cells, and collagen are found.
With IPL the epidermis is unharmed, and redness and peeling associated with traditional laser skin resurfacing are avoided. There is a slight stinging sensation during the treatment, which subsides immediately after the procedure.

How many sessions do I need to remove dark spots?
In most cases, IPL therapy consists of a series of three to four treatments but some patients experience improvement after the single session.
What will my skin look like after the procedure?
Immediately after the skin is slightly red and minimally swollen, similar to sunburn. Over a two to three week period, any brown spots or freckles will darken and then flake off.
IPL treatments of abnormal redness of vessels usually have minimal downtime, although some patients experience purple discoloration. Camouflage makeup can conceal any discoloration which usually resolves within a week.
After IPL therapy, it is especially important to wear sunscreen and a hat to avoid sun exposure and prevent discoloration or recurrence of sun damage, brown spots, and lines.
